We were all born sinners as a result of Adam's sin, but it was for such that Jesus died.

Who, being honest with himself, would deny the fact that not all he does, says or thinks is right? We must admit, no matter how hard we try, we do think evil thoughts and say things which are wrong. What child does not deny that he has done something, which he knows to be wrong, even when very young? The simple explanation for this is that Adam sinned, sin entered the human race, and has continued. "As by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned" (Romans 5v12). Since we cannot reach God's standard as given in the ten commandments in Exodus chapter 20, we must agree we have fallen short of His requirements. "By the law is the knowledge of sin" (Romans 3v20). Because of sin we are barred from heaven and on our way to hell. However, because God loved the world He gave His son, the Lord Jesus Christ, to die for sinners, to die as a sacrifice for sin. "But God commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us". (Romans 5v8). "For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God" (1Peter 3v18). He has died to provide salvation and forgiveness for everyone -"that He by the grace of God should taste death for every man" (Hebrews 2v9). Therefore, because of His death we can be saved. If we see our need of this salvation and understand that since He has died for sinners He has died for us, and trust Him for salvation, then we will be forgiven. If we are satisfied with His death for our sins then what more do we need? From God's word, we need no more to take us to heaven and save us from hell. "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life" (John 3v16). Because the sinless Saviour died, My sinful soul is counted free, For God, the just is satisfied To look on Him and pardon me.
