A Message of Good Tidings (25 Pack)
[SMB-001-C_25]

Good Tidings

       We all get tidings of many kinds in the course of a lifetime – some good, which gives joy, and others that can cause much sorrow. The writer of this little tract would not wish the latter to be the portion of any who may read it. Rather would he desire that the reader might have the greatest of all blessings – the forgiveness of sins in one’s lifetime, and eternal salvation to enjoy for ever. It is a glorious possibility.

  The best tidings that was ever sounded on earth, was to the Shepherds of old: “Behold I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.  For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord(Luke 2 v 10,11).

   By His coming thus, and the ransom price He paid, the blessing of salvation has been procured. It is indissolubly linked with ‘the Cross of Christ’, His death, burial, and resurrection – no salvation without “The blood of His cross” (Colossians 1 v 20);  “The precious blood of Christ” (1 Peter 1 v 19).  It cleanses believers from all sin. (1 John 1 v 7).

 ‘Sin’, ‘the curse, and death’, no mortal man can undo. They are inseparably connected, consequent upon the fall of man (Romans 5 V 12), and alas: the Saviour said, “If ye believe not that I am He, ye shall die in your sins (John 8 v 24), Thank God, the power of the gospel can break the bond of sin, and give deliverance in salvation.

   How good then it is, that a holy and sin-hating God has in wondrous love sent forth a message of glad tidings, so beautifully, and scripturally expressed by the poet:

                  God could not pass the sinner by:

                  His sins demand that He must die,

                  But in the Cross of Christ we see,

                  How God can save yet righteous be.

The glad tidings to the Shepherds, ‘Of a Saviour which is Christ the Lord’, is still being told forth

 in ‘The Gospel of Christ’, for:-

** It is: “The power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth”  (Romans 1 v 16).

* It reveals: Man’s ruined state, and his helplessness to save himself  (Romans 3 v 9 –20; 5 v 6).

* It tells us that: “God is love” and that, “God com-

    mendeth His love toward us, in that while we were

    yet sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans 5 v 8).

* It states that: “God … will have all men to be saved,

   and to come unto the knowledge of the truth

                                                                      (1 Timothy 2 v 3, 4).

* It tells of a full provision for all in Christ:

  Who gave Himself a ransom for all”  (1Tim. 2 v 6).

* It declares man’s responsibility to repent:

  Repent ye, and believe the gospel” (Mark 1 v 15).

* and that He that believeth on the Son hath ever- lasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him”                                                                                                     (John 3 v 36).

“Behold, now is the accepted time;

  behold, now is the day of salvation”

                                         (2 Corinthians 6  v 2)

 “Look unto me, and be ye saved, all

  the ends of the earth; for I am God,

  and there is none else”.

                                                          ( Isaiah  45 v 22 )

“For God so loved the world, that He

 gave His only begotten Son, that

 whosoever believeth in Him should

 not perish, but have everlasting life”.

                                                           ( John  3 v 16)
